Merry Christmas Friends

The Bible actually doesn’t give us the specific time of Jesus birth. It was probably late September or early October, before the rainy weather started that would have prevented the shepherds from being out in the hills with their flocks.

Regardless of when, Jesus’s birth is certainly important to the Christian’s faith. Have you considered that without the birth of Christ there would have been no baptism (of Christ), no perfect life, no death, no resurrection, no ascension, no outpouring of the Holy Spirit, no Priestly intercession in the heavenly sanctuary, and no second Advent?

So no matter the time of year, in fact all through the year, I’m thankful for Jesus’ birth!

We can also associate the birth of Jesus with three major themes: (1) the Worship & Praise of Jesus (Luke 2:8-12); (2) the giving of Gifts to Jesus (Matt 2:1-11); and (3) the Proclamation of Peace and Goodwill regarding Jesus (Luke 2:13-14).

So shouldn’t our celebrations of Jesus Christ, which can and should be at any and all times of the year, incorporate those same essential themes? May God richly bless you this holiday season as you 1) worship God in spirit and in truth; 2) give precious gifts to Him, and also to His church/ministries to advance His gospel, and 3) live & share His gospel, the good news of His gifts of joy, peace and good will, with others.
